Nobody is here to be made unwelcome.

What we expect

• Treat everyone in the room as a colleague, whatever their discipline, seniority, or how much of the technical conversation they follow.
• Assume the clinician in your team knows things you do not, and the same of the engineer, the designer and the business student.
• Give credit accurately. Name who did what, in your demo and afterwards.
• Respect patient confidentiality absolutely. Never bring identifiable patient data to the event, in any form.
• Accept a no. On teams, on ideas, on photographs, on contact afterwards.

What is not tolerated

• Harassment or discrimination of any kind, including on the basis of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or age.
• Unwelcome sexual attention, comments or imagery.
• Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
• Sustained disruption of talks, mentoring sessions or demos.
• Photography or recording of a person who has asked you not to.
• Bringing identifiable patient data on site, or using it in a project.

What happens if it does

Organisers may take any action they judge appropriate, including a warning, removal from a team, disqualification from judging, or removal from the event without refund. There is no requirement that a warning come first. Anyone asked to stop a behaviour is expected to stop immediately.

Reporting

If something happens to you, or you see it happen to someone else, tell an organiser. On site, every organiser is identifiable and any of them can act. Reports are handled discreetly, and you will never be asked to confront the other person.
